Ge-Mi: Part One Pre-Orders

Ge-Mi: Part One is available for pre-order at NineStar Press! The official release date is tomorrow, March 16th, however if you purchase* from NSP, you can get it now, as NSP makes all their books available three days before official release. It is also available for pre-order from Amazon, but you have to wait until tomorrow to read it.

* For those that purchased the book when it was previously available with LT3, no substantive changes have been made. There were minor edits and there's a new cover, but aside from that, the story remains the same. While I would be flattered if you purchased the book again, you will not miss anything if you don't.

The cover is out! It's not as spectacularly shocking as the original cover, but it's still beautiful. I don't know how we ended up in outer space, but I can't complain when a cover is that pretty. Let me know what you think.

Ge-Mi: Part Two is moving along at pace! The first round of edits was completed and I am now working on the second round. I hope to have them back to the editor very soon. All the edits have been extremely positive, and the editor does seem to love Part Two just as much as Part One. I think you'll all love it too, and I can't wait for it to be available for you to read!

Cover Reveal: Ground of Resurrection

Check out the cover for Ground of Resurrection, the second book in my Wizard Wars series. The cover nicely hints at things to come, and the scenery is gorgeous yet again. I also think the cover does a good job of showing the continuation and evolution from the first book.

Cover Reveals

The finals for the two covers I mentioned in my last post have arrived and they are gorgeous! The Coup and the Prince is set in a city ravaged by the aftermath of a coup. The rebuilding process and the struggles the characters have to endure are perfectly exemplified in the broken castle. Heartbeat is a reprint, but this is its first original cover and I have to say the artist outdid themselves. The purple and gold are striking and the moon and the wolf provide the last bit of oomph. I really do love everything about these covers!

I don't have any official information about release dates. The Coup and the Prince will be pushed back, but the new date has not been decided as of yet. It is available for pre-order at LT3 if you're interested in reserving your copy. Heartbeat also does not yet have an official release date. It's still a few months out from that information becoming available. Until then, I hope you enjoy the covers:

The cover for If A Butterfly Don't Fly is here! It's a lovely autumn scene, but for those of you that read Kelpie Blue, you know the mushroom is a big hint of what's to come. I also really like the blue butterfly. This book has music and magic and quite a bit of faery danger. I think you'll all really enjoy it.

    Merridy has always loved music, but can't sing. The only job in the music business he can get is as a security guard for The Bard and Sons, a premier record label. He keeps their secrets and patrols their hallways, always secretly wishing for a big break he knows will never come.

Cover Reveal: Ground of Insurrection

Today I have for you the cover of Ground of Insurrection, the first book in my Wizard Wars series, which is coming out on June 13, 2018. I took one look at the cover and went "yes!". It's basically a snapshot taken directly from the book, with the prairie stretching on for miles. I admit the prairie wouldn't have left a bit of food like the skull lying around like that, but the skull is very dramatic and provides the context that no matter how pretty the prairie might be, it's deadly. This cover definitely reaches the top of my favorite covers list.

Life on the prairie isn't easy, especially since the prairie has a habit of eating people it doesn't like. Ruse knows the dangers, but there's so much more to the prairie than death.
The nearby country of Ammet, however, only sees an exploitable resource to be conquered. Caught between the political machinations of Ammet and his love for the prairie, Ruse can only hope he doesn't wind up killed by one or the other.

News: Coming Soon and Not So Soon

LT3 and I have been sending emails back and forth. I've asked far too many questions and probably annoyed the heck out of them (sorry!), but it was very productive nonetheless. I now have lots of news to share with you. First, the cover for Supernatural Consultant, Volume Two has arrived! Volume Two is the second print compilation in the series and will include Dragon Detective, Dragon Soldier, Dragon Adventure, and Dragon Home. LT3's plan was to try to get it to the printer today, so--barring human error and unforeseen circumstances--it should be for sale sometime next week. I will let you know when it's up on LT3's site. I know Amazon and some of the other online stores take a bit longer, but at least you'll know when to start looking.

Second, Volume Two has been included in the list of books to be turned into audiobooks. I believe it is currently third on the list and audiobooks take time to make, so look for it to be available next February, March, or April. I'm hoping to be able to pin down a more exact date when the book is sent to the voice actor.

Third, LT3 and the editor for Kelpie Blue conferenced and came to the same conclusion I did: a January release date for Kelpie Blue--given the extent of the edits--just wasn't realistic. LT3 provided me with a new release date instead. Look for Kelpie Blue to be in your hands on March 21, 2018.

It will be released in just over a month, on December 13, 2017 and (if you haven't read it before) I think you'll really like it. Cover Reveal: Kelpie Blue

I think the cover for Kelpie Blue is the most artistic cover I've ever had for all the stories I've written. The mist off the forest and covering the lake is so pretty, and those eyes in the water really catch my attention. They look sad and lonely, but you know in water that deep getting enticed to go swim and check it out could be deadly.

This series is definitely set within one of my more interesting worlds and I can't wait for it to be released. Look for it January 31 and for pre-order info to be available soon!

News: Covers, Edits, and Writing

For those of you that follow me on Facebook, you probably saw that I added all six new covers for my Dragon's Hoard series. They're absolutely amazing. I loved the old covers, of course, but these are super special too. Six covers is too much to share in a blog post, so if you want to check them out they're on Facebook and they're on my website.
Finding the Wolf, the first book in my Dragon's Hoard series, is available for pre-order. If you purchased it in the past, DO NOT bother buying it again (unless you want to for some reason). There have been edits, but it is basically the same book. What you can do, is when the series is re-released you can dig through LT3's rather difficult purchased page and find your original download. As far as I'm aware, you should be able to download the new version from that page. I don't know what to do if you purchased your copy from Amazon or another ebook site. If you are a brand new reader of the series, then make sure you DO get a copy now while it's on a preorder discount. The reprints of the entire Dragon's Hoard series as well as the new Gathering the Hoard short story set should all be available July 12th.
I have been plugging away at the edits for Justified and I am almost finished. All that's left is a final read through--which I've already started--and then I'll send it back to LT3. Justified is available for preorder, and you can always go onto Goodreads and add it to your to-read list. It comes out really soon too on August 9th, so get your preorder in now.
I have also been able to get a lot of writing done this past week. If A Butterfly Don't Fly has passed 30K words, which means I have less than 10k left to write. The twist I added has turned out amazingly and I'm really happy with how this story is progressing. The plan is to have it completed in July so that by the end of August I can start getting it ready for submission to LT3. By then I'm hoping to have more news to share about Kelpie Blue, the first book in the series. Kelpie Blue was accepted by LT3, but aside from that I don't know anything else about its progress. Of course, the next set of edits I should be getting are for Dragon Spy, which I know my readers are excited about since Lumie is the main character. After that is when I'm expecting to start getting word about Kelpie Blue.

Aqua and Rios are bored, which is always a recipe for disaster. They decide that taking a trip to visit Nickel would be a ton of fun, so they hop on a boat and go sailing down the river. Niagara Falls separates the two kits from their destination, not that they're aware of that fact, and their fun adventure quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival.

With Rios happily mated and planning an entire future, Aqua can't help but feeling left out. The brother that had always been his chief playmate and best friend was planning to leave him behind, which isn't at all acceptable. Cover Reveal: Ge-Mi: Part One

Ge-Mi was one of the rare stories that I actually knew what I wanted on the cover. Most of the time I have absolutely zero idea and I hem and haw and generally drive LT3 and the artist crazy. Ge-Mi was the exact opposite. The image of Nevada, the main character, naked with his back to the viewer and his tail curled to hide his modesty was one that stuck with me from the first moment I started writing this story. Of course, I probably drove everyone equally crazy by being too precise in what I wanted, but I'm really happy with how the cover turned out.

A hundred years ago evil scientists spliced human genes with those of animals, creating a genetic mutation passed on through the generations. Hated because of their differences, these Ge-Mis live on the fringes of society where they scrounge and scrape to get by.
Nevada is half Ge-Mi, and hides that fact behind baggy clothes and by keeping distance between himself and everyone around him. One day his peaceful life is shattered by an explosion and the arrival of a pack of wolves to sniff out the culprit. Wolves have excellent noses and as Alpha, Taylor can sniff out every one of Nevada's secrets- and the harder Nevada tries to resist, the more difficult staying away from Taylor becomes.
